With a view to achieving incisive, productive, and open discussions about education and education policy, the Axis Educational Trust is holding a series of RoundTable talks with an exciting range of guest speakers. These events embrace a wide range of issues surrounding education, from practical classroom-orientated advice forums to social and philosophical debates about the role and impact of education in our rapidly changing world.

About Professor Dominic Wyse

Professor Wyse is an expert in Early Years and Primary Education at the Faculty of Children and Learning at the Institute of Education. The main focus of his research is curriculum and pedagogy, with a particular emphasis on the teaching of English language, literacy, and creativity. He also has extensive experience in music including a position as the first Director of Music-Making at Churchill College, Cambridge where he was also a Fellow. Prior to joining the IOE, Prof. Wyse was a Senior Lecturer at the University of Cambridge.

In his forthcoming book Creating the Curriculum Prof. Wyse examines national curricula and pedagogy, making comparisons between the four nations of the UK and other countries. This landmark book is the first to analyse the differences in curricula within the home nations.
