Barnet Summer School For Bame Youth Project

Axis Educational Trust aims to help youth from BAME communities in Barnet to excel in their English and Maths skills through an intensive 1-month summer programme including sports and performing arts activities.

We will run an intensive summer school for disadvantaged communities, including BAME children, and youth from low-income families. Our main beneficiaries will come from Barnet and surrounding areas. The project includes 3 hours’ worth of Maths per week, 3 hours’ worth of English per week and 3 hours’ worth of enrichment activity programme per week. This schedule encourages children and young people to engage in play by offering a range of materials and ideas to inspire and challenge them.

We will provide challenging, exciting and fun sessions such as arts and crafts, performing arts as well as sports activities such as football, basketball, athletics and table tennis. We will also visit the Museum of London, provide a daily minibus service from pick up points in Barnet, provide sandwiches, snacks and refreshments during lunch break and organise a reward assembly and celebration with the parents at the end of the programme.
