Mum Power Project
Empowering Mothers, Strengthening Families
Axis Educational Trust is proud to launch Mum Power, a year-long community initiative designed to empower mothers from BAMER (Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic, and Refugee) backgrounds. The project is fully funded by National Lottery Community Fund and free to access for eligible women living in North London.
Aims and Objectives
• Improve mental and physical wellbeing of mothers facing social and economic hardship.
• Equip mothers with parenting, communication and educational skills to better support their children.
• Provide financial literacy and career development guidance.
• Build a network of peer support, social action and community resilience.
Who Can Join?
Mothers from BAMER or refugee backgrounds who live in North London. Priority is given to those affected by the cost-of-living crisis or social isolation. No previous experience is necessary — just a willingness to participate and grow.
Where will the activities take place?
Small Group Sessions: North Finchley and Ponders End centres
Fitness Activities and Seminars: North London Grammar School, Ashmole Academy, Southgate School
Fun Day: Ashmole Academy Grounds and hall
